This blog contains information about the use of the musical instrument known as recorder within jazz music.

As it is not common to find jazz music played by the recorder, nor is it common to find information about playing this music with such an instrument, I hope you will find what I have discovered during the last few years useful.
My research is far from being over! I would like this website to be updated continuously. Please send me your suggestions, anecdotes and news to make this a point of reference for recorder lovers!

- Gianluca Barbaro
- Gianluca Barbaro (Cosenza, Italy, 1969) made his musical debut at the age of 15 as pianist in a Jazz Big Band orchestra and played jazz piano for a few more years. More recently he devoted himself to the study of the recorder both within Early music (he is attending the Musical Conservatory of Bolzano, Italy) and Jazz music, which he studies at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica in Milan.
He studied philosophy and worked as an IT consultant, programmer, translator from English and journalist for many years before starting to play music full time.
This is the second recorder website he has published, the first is in Italian only: dolceBlog - Appunti sul flauto dolce.
