| | | Address | De Badcuyp | | | City | Amsterdam (NL) | | | Web | http://myspace.com/duoraraavis | | | Note | "Rara Avis combines renaissance music with South-Indian sounds and contemporary improvisation ideas, and spices up the abstract folk concoction with whatever they see fit. The album One Fell Swoop is the culmination of three years of searching, practicing, improvising, and, most of all, lots of playing. One Fell Swoop is released on Karnatic Lab Records (KLR 016).
On 25 March Rara Avis will celebrate the album release at the Amsterdam Badcuyp. Surrounding the presentation, they will play a number of concerts in a variety of settings: acoustic and electronic, with and without guests, grand and intimate.
Rara Avis are Czech Canadian Terri Hron (recorders, electronics) and Dutchman Robbert van Hulzen (drums etc, electronics). Terri and Robbert met on the Amsterdam scene. In 2004, they started Rara Avis, to explore and enjoy the clashes and the common ground of their sound worlds. "
