Biography (notes taken from Artist's website)
Evelyn Nallen made her BBC debut at the age of nine, and her remarkable skills span early, baroque and contemporary music. She has recorded Bach's Fourth Brandenburg Concerto for Philips, works by Tippet for Nimbus, made a solo album for ASV and has had works written for her by David Bedford, Carl Rutti and Roxanna Panufnik. Together with harpsichordist David Gordon, she formed the innovative early music/jazz group Respectable Groove which has just recorded its third CD, their take on Purcell's "Dido & Aeneas".
Evelyn has given concerts all over the world, has played at the Wigmore Hall many times, the South Bank Centre in London, the Barbican, the Royal Albert Hall, on BBC TV and radio and in the USA, South America, Australia and New Zealand. When she toured Australia, Melbourne's Herald described her as 'glorious'.
Evelyn has played virtually every aspect of recorder repertoire, and has made a special study of early eighteenth century dance, working with the baroque dancer Dr. Moira Goff, and the ensemble Airs & Graces.
